Chapter: 64
That made sense.
Such encounters would become quite regular since Bethany started at the headquarters.
When Bethany looked for a place to hide, Jonathan spotted her.
"Bethany." His voice was deep and compelling, delivered at a measured pace.
With nowhere left to hide, Bethany stepped forward. "Mr. Bates, Miss Hinchcliffe."
"We're heading out now," Jonathan informed Maddie. As Bethany came closer, he opened the car door and got in.
Maddie waved goodbye to Bethany, smiling. "Drive safely! We'll discuss it after your trip."
"Okay," Jonathan responded.
Bethany waited for Maddie to walk away before she entered the car.
She glanced at Jonathan, curious about their earlier conversation.
What would they discuss?
“Feeling tired?" Jonathan asked, relaxing his tie and unbuttoning the top of his shirt.
From her angle, Bethany could just make out the tattoo peeking out from under his collar.
“Not really. Brody didn't give me much to do."
“If it ever gets too much, just tell Brody," Jonathan said. He didn't bring her to headquarters to overwhelm her.
Bethany nodded, and then her phone rang unexpectedly.
She checked it and saw a friend request notification.
It showed that someone wanted to add her as a friend.
Who could it be?
After a moment's hesitation, Bethany accepted the request.
Almost immediately, Aimee called her.
"My cousin sent you that friend request. He's hoping to talk to you about a recent scientific research project if you're free!"
Bethany was surprised. It seemed like Aimee was eager to play matchmaker .
“I mean it. Carson is genuinely interested in this project. If you can secure it, it will boost your standing."
