Chapter: 65
“Okay, I'll talk to him. Thanks for the opportunity," Bethany replied helplessly before hanging up. When she looked at Jonathan again, he showed no reaction this time.
Bethany breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed he wasn't feeling jealous.
How could he be jealous?
Back at East Shade Bay, Bethany started packing. She knocked on the study door and asked, “Jonathan, can I help you pack for your trip?"
He was leaning against the desk, absorbed in a company report. His robe was draped loosely, exposing much of his tanned skin.
Hearing her voice, he stood up straight and instructed, "I need some white shirts and two suits."
"Got it."
“And bring pajamas, underwear, and condoms," he added.
Bethany looked at him instinctively, but his expression was calm.
How could he bring up such items so casually and matter-of-factly?
Wasn't that a bit awkward?
Even amid the hectic preparations for their business trip, Jonathan still seemed to think about such personal details.
Quietly exiting his study, Bethany ironed his shirts, folded them precisely, and packed them with ties, socks, underwear, and condoms into the suitcase.
She paused to count the condoms-five seemed about right.
With everything ready, Bethany checked her phone before heading for a shower. She noticed several messages from Jayson.
He introduced himself and shared details about the smart vehicle he developed with several professors.
Bethany viewed Jayson's concept video. The smart vehicle boasted autonomous driving, self-parking capabilities, wheels that could turn 360 degrees, and even low-altitude flight.
Bethany was astonished.
Clearly, there was a significant untapped market for dual-purpose vehicles, and the technology in this sector was still quite underdeveloped domestically.
This time, Aimee didn't lie.
"I'm heading out on a business trip tomorrow. I'll talk it over with my boss when I return. It seems like a promising project," Bethany texted Jayson.
After a moment, Jayson replied, “Are you going on a business trip tomorrow too?"
"Yes, I'm headed to Brokdon," Bethany confirmed.
“What a coincidence! I'll be in Brokdon tomorrow as well. I've been invited to speak at the University of Technology. If you have time, we could meet up, and I can go over this project with you in more detail," Jayson said.
