Chapter: 642
As evening fell, Aimee arrived at the hospital after arranging for her parents to watch the kids.

“Bethany still hasn't woken up?" She approached the bed and sighed deeply at the sight of Bethany. “Why does she have to suffer so much?"

“The doctor says she's stable now. She's just resting. Let her sleep. When she wakes, she'll likely want to find Jonathan again."

Jayson carefully wiped Bethany's hands with a towel, avoiding her injuries, his expression was one of focused care.

Aimee exhaled slowly and said, "It seems totally hopeless for them this time. And you.."

"I don't expect anything. I just want her to be okay.”

Jayson looked up and offered a weary smile. "Seeing Bethany, so battered, yet still desperate to find Jonathan, I really wanted to help reunite them. How often do we find a love so deep that we'd risk everything for it?"

“But their backgrounds are so different. After everything that's happened, it's clear that while we think Bethany's had it hard, Jonathan has faced just as much, if not more."

"Let's not dwell on it. We'll leave it to fate." Jayson didn't want to keep focusing on the negative. He laid Bethany's hand back on the bed and looked at Aimee with a raised eyebrow. “How about you? How are you holding up?"

Aimee's face showed some minor injuries, but they were clean and bandaged.

“I'm fine! Maddie wasn't really after me. My parents just wanted me to stay home with them." Aimee pulled up a chair and sat down, crossing her legs. "The one thing I regret is not giving Maddie a piece of my mind. I'm usually so outspoken. Why did I lose my words when I needed them most?"

Jayson laughed. “If you weren't always so outspoken, you might not have gotten hurt!"

“If I kept quiet, I'd probably explode from stress!" Aimee rolled her eyes. “I've wanted to yell at Maddie for a long time. She-Look! Bethany's stirring!"

Before Aimee could finish her sentence, she noticed Bethany moving on the bed.

Jayson quickly approached. "Bethany?"

Slowly, Bethany's eyes fluttered open to see Jayson and Aimee Leaning over her, looking concerned.

She instinctively tried to sit up but immediately collapsed back onto the bed with a thud.

"Ugh..." Her face was twisted in pain.

"Don't move!" Jayson firmly pressed her down. “Your legs are badly injured. Do you want to end up paralyzed?"

Aimee added urgently, "Yeah! Bethany, stay still!"

But Bethany seemed to tune everything out. She said weakly, “Take me... to see Brody..."

Even if her legs were no good, she was determined to be by Jonathan's side.

"You're not leaving the hospital again! Bethany, I'll tie you to the bed if I have to, but I'm not letting you go!"

Jayson had already let her stay out in the rain all night. Now that Jonathan had left the country for treatment, it was time for her to settle down.
