Chapter: 680
“I'm just thinking, maybe it's best if you don't come. Bethany's adjusting well here, and the Bates family has been quite welcoming,”

Aimee replied.

Jayson said nothing, but Aimee could sense his disappointment.

"Listen, Jayson, Bethany mentioned she'll be back in a month. There's no need for you to travel all this way. I plan to stay here until she's settled and then I'll head back home."

When Jonathan woke up, it was clear that no one would dare harm Bethany again.

After a tense silence, Jayson finally spoke in a subdued tone. “Okay, I won't leave. Make sure she's safe."

The call ended, leaving Aimee with a sinking feeling in her chest.

She couldn't explain it, but a wave of sadness washed over her.

She grabbed her phone, hoping to order some beer to ease her into sleep, but the app was in a language she didn't understand. The thought of venturing out alone made her anxious; she could easily get lost.

Suddenly, she had an idea. She slipped into her slippers and hurried out, knocking on the door to Nikolas’ room.

After a few moments, the door swung open to reveal Nikolas, freshly out of the shower, his annoyance evident.

“What do you want?"

Nikolas stood there, his damp hair slicked back, wrapped in the hotel's white bathrobe. The urgent knocking had clearly taken him by surprise.

"I need a drink. Can you go out and get me some alcohol?"

"Do I look like your servant?" No one had dared to boss him around like this, except Jonathan.

Aimee blinked, her eyes wide with feigned innocence. "I didn't mean it like that. Jonathan asked you to look after me. I need alcohol to help me sleep, but I can't buy it myself. Could you please help me out?"

Nikolas was at a loss for words.

"You will help me, won't you?"

"I won't." With that, Nikolas closed the door.

Seething with anger, Aimee exclaimed, “Seriously? Hey! Where are your manners? It's no wonder you and Maddie get along. You're both incredibly rude!"

After venting her frustration, she turned to leave, but Nikolas opened the door again.

This time, he was dressed in casual clothes instead of a bathrobe.

His expression was one of sheer annoyance. “Did you really expect me to go out dressed in a bathrobe?"

Nikolas was dumbstruck.
