Chapter: 703
“Are you crazy? I'm injured!"

“Well, one more injury won't make a difference. You got off easy compared to what Maddie did to you," Aimee retorted.

Nikolas found himself at a loss for words.

Aimee's glare intensified. "Move your hand! Or I'll break it!"

"I won't move." Despite the pain, Nikolas held his ground. "I need to talk to you. It's important."

“You never have anything important to say." Her tone was dismissive.

“I know you're leaving, so I came to take you out for a drive. Don't always expect the worst from people, okay? I do have serious matters to attend to."

Nikolas realized that Aimee had a unique ability to infuriate him.

Typically, women were drawn to him, and he never felt the need to humble himself.

Yet here she was, acting as if she were untouchable, like some aristocrat.

“Oh, no need." Aimee's response was as icy as ever.

After his earlier antics, Aimee suddenly realized she was dealing with a grown man. She felt some relief knowing Nikolas had only been teasing her because, in this foreign country, she felt quite isolated.

Bethany had Jonathan's protection yet still encountered challenges from the Bates family. Who would she turn to if she faced similar threats?

She resolved to distance herself from Nikolas.

It was safer for her and Bethany.

This shift in Aimee's demeanor left Nikolas unsettled. He missed the old Aimee who would spar with him verbally.

“Aren't you worried about getting lost?"

"No."

“Wesden isn't safe! If you get kidnapped, no one will be there to save you."

Aimee stopped to consider, then replied, “Alright, if it's that dangerous, I'll stay inside. Now, move your hand. I need to shut the door."

“Wait! I'll come with you. With me by your side, no one would dare-"

“Move your hand!" Aimee interrupted firmly.

"Hey! What's gotten into you? I'm trying to smooth things over here!"

Nikolas snapped.
