Chapter: 708
Without a second thought, she declined the call. There was nothing she wanted to discuss with him.

Yet, Andrew persisted, calling back repeatedly.

With a sigh of annoyance, Bethany finally picked up. “Out with it."

“What kind of way is that to answer? I'm your father!" Andrew's voice came through, filled with disapproval and a hint of anger from the very start.

Bethany was in no mood to linger on the call. “I'll hang up now unless there's something important."

"Wait!" Andrew's voice cracked with urgency. "Have you seen Maddie lately? I've been trying to reach her but can't. Her mother's worried sick."

It turned out that Andrew was on a frantic search for Maddie.

"Yes."

"Where did you see her?"

"In a warehouse. Your darling daughter has taken my friend and my child hostage."

Andrew, taken aback, retorted in disbelief, "You can't be serious!"

“I wish I were joking," Bethany snapped back, her voice icy. “I regret not being able to skin her alive. Why would you think I'd help you find her after what she did?"

Bethany's thoughts raced back to the terrifying moment when Maddie had endangered Jonathan's life, nearly killing him. If it hadn't been for Francine's intervention, who whisked Maddie away just in time, Bethany would have taken matters into her own hands, even at the risk of imprisonment.

“How could you turn into such a person? Wishing death upon your own sister! Is this what Marie taught you?" Andrew's voice was tinged with revulsion.

“Shut up! You have no right to speak about my mom!" Bethany yelled.

"Who the hell do you think you're yelling at?" Andrew lost his patience. "Do you think I'd be calling you if I could find Maddie? Every time we speak, you always complain and blame your sister, while she always speaks well of you and wants us to reconcile."

Bethany took a deep breath, attempting to calm herself. “She speaks well of me? Then why isn't our relationship better?"

She could see right through Maddie's trick.

Maddie was a skilled manipulator. She was also quite good at giving backhanded compliments.

"That's because you're being difficult to deal with. That's not your sister's fault. You've been spoiled by your mom," Andrew retorted.

“Why then didn't you raise me yourself? Why didn't you put in an effort to be in my life?"

"I tried! Your mom didn't let me!"

Bethany smiled bitterly and said, “Maddie really is your daughter. You both are skilled in the art of lying. If you're looking for Maddie, then you've come to the wrong place. You better pray I don't find her!"

"What do you mean?"
