Chapter: 779
Bethany could see that Samira truly loved her role as a doctor.
It wasn't merely a job or a means to make ends meet for her.
Given her social and family status, she could have chosen an easier path. Yet, she had opted for the challenging route of medicine, clearly passionate about it.
Samira was starkly different from her. She often had to handle situations that didn't align with her desires and couldn't always follow her heart.
"Samira, have you ever been in love? I mean, romantically?"
Bethany felt somewhat awkward about questioning Samira, given their limited acquaintance. She paused, wrestling with her curiosity before voicing her question, needing to hear the answer.
After a moment of reflection, Samira responded, "I have known someone, but it was brief. Moreover, I never used to believe in love.”
"What kind of man catches your interest?"
"Well..." Samira appeared conflicted for a while. Finally, she met Bethany's eyes and confessed, "Someone like Jonathan."
Bethany's hands balled into fists at her sides without her realizing.
Samira had feelings for Jonathan?
Absorbed in her thoughts, Samira remained oblivious to Bethany's reaction. After a pause, she continued, "I admire men who are loyal, responsible, and show respect towards women. Observing you and Jonathan these past few days has inspired me to seek a relationship!"
“Jonathan... You've just described him perfectly."
"That's not all. He's also handsome and wealthy. He treats you very well." Samira gently placed her hand on Bethany's shoulder, smiling warmly. “Bethany, you are indeed fortunate! To find someone so loyal and devoted-it's truly a stroke of luck. I hope the two of you stay together forever. Avoid arguments and don't let anything break you apart. Please, don't shatter this newfound belief I have in love!"
As Samira expressed these sentiments, her sincerity was unmistakable.
Bethany realized there was a misunderstanding.
Clearly, Samira harbored no romantic feelings for Jonathan. He was merely her ideal type.
Had Bethany not overheard that conversation between Godfrey and Samira, she wouldn't have broached the subject. But having eavesdropped, her mind raced with suspicions.
She had feared that once she was out of the picture, the Bates family might attempt to pair Samira with Jonathan.
Godfrey seemed inclined towards this match, and Samira's family background and social standing met Francine's standards.
"Ah! Did you have a disagreement with Jonathan and decide to come here?" Samira suddenly realized something amiss.
Quickly, Bethany shook her head. "No, I haven't fought with him."
With their time together dwindling, how could she afford to waste any moments on conflict?
Nikolas brought Aimee to his home instead of a hotel.
