Chapter: 800
Nikolas gritted his teeth, clearly struggling to keep his emotions in check. "Your father mentioned that you're going on a blind date. Is that true?"
“It's true," Aimee responded flatly, her tone indicating that she had no intention of hiding the truth.
“And what about me?" Nikolas’ grip on the cigarette case tightened.
His bony hands seemed to tremble slightly as he looked down at them.
Aimee frowned, confused. "What do you mean?"
"You called yourself my girlfriend in front of my mother, and now you're going on a blind date?"
Nikolas was doing his best to control his anger, determined not to start an argument right away.
His exhaustion, from days of little rest, was evident.
"That's what you said! What choice did I have but to play along?"
Aimee, keeping her distance, spoke quietly to avoid alerting her parents. “Did you drive here?"
"Yes," Nikolas replied tersely.
“Let's talk in your car," Aimee suggested, glancing at her watch.
There were still a few hours before her blind date, and she wanted to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
Nikolas followed her, his eyes lingering on her. She was dressed in new clothes, her makeup light yet noticeable, and the scent of perfume lingered in the air-clearly prepared for the date.
She seemed quite into the idea of this blind date.
As he put the cigarette case and lighter into his pocket, Nikolas followed Aimee to his car.
"Where is your car?"
"This one," Nikolas said, opening the door of the sleek black Audi A7 beside them.
Aimee frowned.
No wonder she hadn't noticed him coming. It turned out that he had changed his car.
To keep a distance, she slid into the back seat. Moments later, Nikolas followed, sliding into the seat beside her.
Aimee hesitated for a moment before speaking.
"You proposed that we wouldn't have anything to do with each other after three times, but I can't do that. I don't want to sleep with you anymore." Her words were Laced with regret, and she couldn't help but feel a little guilty.
Nikolas nodded slightly, his face unreadable. "I can see that."
