Chapter: 815
“What do you mean?" Aimee was puzzled.

"Nola and Rowan won't be living with us anymore."

“What? How will Jayson handle that?" Aimee asked immediately.

It was even harder for Bethany to continue.

Both fell silent for a few seconds. Then, Aimee asked tentatively, "You don't want to talk to Jayson yourself and you want me to tell him, right?"

"Yes."

"Bethany, this decision is going to devastate him. He could fall apart." After all, he was her cousin and had always treated her kindly since they were kids. How could she not feel compassion for him? “He is good at hiding his feelings, and always internalizes his sorrow. Now that the kids might be taken away, he..."

“B7 mentioned that the footage could be fixed in a month. Now ten days have passed. We have at most twenty days left to resolve the situation with the Bates family."

Jayson was going to be heartbroken. As a mother, Bethany felt the sorrow too.

"While you're dealing with the Bates family, won't they hurt Nola and Rowan? That family is capable of anything!"

Aimee truly considered the two kids as her own and would protect them no matter what, which brought her many concerns.

"I trust that Jonathan will keep them safe. He's given me his word."

“But.." Aimee wanted to protest.

“Aimee, I've prepared for the worst. However, Nola and Rowan are just starting their lives. They will have a bright future with Jonathan."

Aimee understood the challenges ahead. As a friend, she vowed to offer as much support as possible.

"Alright, I'll talk to Jayson."

On the day they were to return from Wesden, Bethany rose early to pack.

Samira visited to administer Jonathan's medication and brought extra, instructing them to change his dressing upon their return.

She didn't think Jonathan should be traveling with his injuries, but he wasn't one to follow doctors' orders.

"Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on him to ensure he doesn't aggravate his injuries," Bethany promised.

“Okay. Samira nodded, appearing as though she had more to say but ultimately just waved goodbye. "See you in a week!"

“Take care."

Bethany and Jonathan then headed to the airport.

Bethany gazed out the window, deep in thought.
