Chapter: 874
"We'll come back when it's snowing. Promise."

Bethany's eyes sparkled as she looked at him. "Okay."

"Close your eyes," Jonathan suddenly instructed.

Bethany complied, and a moment later, he cupped her face and planted a soft kiss.

This exhilarating sensation seemed to arise solely from Jonathan.

He lowered his gaze and kissed Bethany deeply, his touch evolving from tentative to intense.

Only when the surrounding crowd erupted into applause did Bethany, her cheeks flushed, push him away and dash off.

Aware of her bashfulness, Jonathan quickly followed her. “What's holding you back? Don't you think it's legitimate?"

Lost for words, Bethany just stared.

"Then let's Legalize it." He clasped her hands. "Why not remarry since we're back in the country?"

For a moment, Bethany appeared dazed, then she smiled. "Do you think it's that simple? I learned my lesson the first time around."

"Are you waiting for a proposal?" Jonathan assumed her smile meant agreement.

However, Bethany shook her head. "I'll give you my answer after some thought."

In the adult world, hesitation often meant denial.

Jonathan got the message.

They spent the evening picking up snacks and toys. When Bethany began to feel weary, they returned to their apartment.

"Go rest; I'll look after the kids," Jonathan offered, noticing her fatigue as he brushed her hair.

"But you're swamped with work, aren't you? Don't dump everything on Brody and Nikolas. I'm really not that worn out. I can handle the children."

"Are you sure you're not exhausted?" He looked at her quizzically.

"Absolutely not!" Bethany replied firmly.

"Then maybe we can do something else." Jonathan teased, lifting her in his arms suddenly.

Startled, she tapped his shoulder. "We just did that yesterday..."

“I was just joking." Jonathan chuckled, carrying her back to the bed.

“I'm on top of my work, Just get some sleep.”
