Chapter: 884
When did they come back? Was it when Nikolas and she were doing it?
If her parents had been home, they would have undoubtedly heard everything, considering the noise they had made in the bedroom.
In the bathroom, Nikolas remained blissfully unaware, humming a tune.
Aimee's anxiety deepened when her mother didn't pick up the phone.
She walked over to the bathroom door and knocked. "Nikolas."
“Hmm? I'm right here."
“My parents might be just outside."
Nikolas’ humming stopped abruptly.
With a rush, he flung the bathroom door open.
He stood there, completely naked, his expression one of shock and confusion.
“When did they get back?"
“How would I know?" Aimee responded, her face pale. "What are we going to do now?"
Nikolas had never been in such a predicament. Although they were in a relationship, they weren't engaged yet. They had hastily retreated to her room for intimacy, and now her parents had seemingly caught them in the act. It was a truly daunting situation.
Seeing Aimee close to tears, Nikolas quickly took her hand, his expression earnest. "Don't cry, it's okay! I'll call my parents right away to come and propose marriage. Tell your parents we're already planning to get married, which is why we... you know..."
When Nikolas spoke, Aimee felt an urge to cry. "Do you really not have other plans? I'm not ready to settle down this soon."
"No. This is what I want!" Nikolas had always hoped to settle down early, and in a way, this situation favored his plans.
Aimee couldn't hold back her tears at his words. “Then, call your parents. The gifts are already in your car. Let's meet them today.”
Nikolas’ expression lightened immediately. “Alright! I'll call them now!""
Meanwhile, Jonathan and Bethany had finished exploring all their planned destinations in Harvein and had asked Brody to arrange their return flight.
Bethany was aware of Jonathan's obligations back in Odonset. He needed to balance his time between work and their relationship.
This trip to Harvein left Bethany feeling fulfilled.
She carefully packed the souvenirs into her suitcase.
Jonathan watched her and smiled. "If you cherish these items, I can get you more."
“Souvenirs hold their value because of the memories they carry. Buying too many would dilute their significance."
