Chapter: 908
"Isn't that almost Like living with you completely?"
Nikolas embraced Aimee and they collapsed onto the sofa together.
"So stay. Make this your home." Nikolas leaned in and kissed Aimee.
“If it makes you uncomfortable to live in my house, I'll transfer it into your name."
"I'm not ready to get married just yet."
"The house would still be yours."
Aimee frowned. “Do you always offer such extravagant gifts to women? This is a villa in Odonset."
She might not know the exact value of the property, but she knew it was substantial.
“Only for you," Nikolas said, Looking her directly in the eyes. "You are the only woman I've ever introduced to my parents. I've never been serious like this before."
Aimee chuckled. "So, you admit you were a jerk!"
"No... I never made any promises to them! It was all in good fun.”
Nikolas never actively pursued women. Typically, after a brief encounter, he might offer some money and then move on.
No woman had stayed in his life for more than a week.
Aimee pouted. “With your history, how do I know you're clean?"
“What do you mean by ‘clean'?" Nikolas paused, then stated firmly, “I've always been careful. Always used protection."
He was cautious, not only about preventing diseases but also about avoiding unwanted pregnancies.
"You act like I should commend you for that."
"No, no," Nikolas said, his smile broadening. “Let's plan a dinner with Jonathan and Bethany once they're free. We've picked them up from the airport twice without managing to have a proper reunion. They're heading back to Wesden soon, and who knows when we'll see them again?"
“Bethany will be back in half a month."
Nikolas raised an eyebrow. "Why's that?"
Realizing she might have revealed too much, Aimee waved her hand dismissively. “Just a guess!"
"I hope Bethany doesn't come back. They should just stay together and live happily ever after. Jonathan has been through enough. If Bethany leaves him again, I think it might destroy him."
Aimee kept silent.
"You don't know how in the past four years, while Bethany was away, Jonathan filled his schedule to the brim-business trips, meetings, working late. He shuttled daily between his office and East Shade Bay. In his scarce free moments, he had people searching for Bethany, only to torture himself with the memories she left behind." At that time, Nikolas genuinely feared Jonathan might collapse.
