Chapter: 912
Bethany felt a mix of confusion and concern. She couldn't make sense of the situation and didn't want to jump to conclusions.
She took the elevator to the CEO's office.
As she had anticipated, the office was dark and empty. The lights were off, and no one was present.
Bethany stood at the office door and called Brody.
“Bethany, is there something else you need?"
“Where are you right now?"
"I'm in the CEO's office with Mr. Bates."
“Come outside. I'm standing right at the door."
The line went silent for nearly a minute. When Brody spoke again, his voice was filled with shock. "You're at the office?"
"Tell me the truth. Where is Jonathan? What's going on with him?"
“Mr. Bates instructed me not to say anything," Brody replied, his voice trembling. "I think it's better if you just speak with him."
“Jonathan's not answering the phone,"
Bethany said, her patience wearing thin. "Didn't I tell you that already?"
“Try calling him a few more times. He has his phone with him, so he should pick up soon," said Brody.
Bethany frowned, her frustration evident. “Fine,” she said, hanging up.
But instead of calling, she sent him a message.
"Call me back, or else you won't see me ever again!"
Within a minute after hitting send, her phone rang.
Bethany answered as she entered the password to the CEO's office.
BHO825.
"Beep!"
The door unlocked with a familiar sound.
On the other end of the line, Jonathan asked, "Are you entering my office?"
He could even hear that!
