Chapter: 938
“Someone recommended him for my new project," he mentioned.

Bethany was taken aback. "Do you want B7 to work at Bates Group?"

"It would only be a collaboration. He might not meet the qualifications to join Bates Group full-time.”

"Okay... I've heard he's quite talented."

Bethany had only browsed the forum briefly, yet she noticed many people praising B7's expertise.

It was clear B7 was revered in his field.

"I plan to discuss the collaboration with him. Do you want me to inquire about your USB drive?"

"No, thank you. Bethany shook her head. "He'll get in touch when it's ready."

Narrowing his eyes, Jonathan remembered how B7 had asked Bethany out late at night when they were at East Shade Bay.

"Are you close with him?" he asked.

"No," Bethany answered truthfully. “I've only met him twice, but he was rather rude. He seemed impatient when speaking with me."

B7 carried an air that was both casual and sharp, as though he was indifferent to everything yet kept everyone at arm's length.

His remarks often carried a hint of sarcasm, making it hard to discern his true thoughts.

"Then bring the USB flash drive back and I'll fix it for you,"

Jonathan offered.

"I've already paid B7 to handle it. Don't worry about it." Bethany quickly steered the conversation away from the USB flash drive.

Lately, she couldn't figure out what was up with Jonathan-he kept bringing up topics that were hard to respond to.

At times, Bethany even suspected he knew more than he let on.

Jonathan looked up and called out, “Come here."

Concerned he might strain himself, she obediently set down her laptop, walked over, and nestled into his arms.

She asked, "Are you catching a cold? Your voice sounds off."

"Maybe I was a bit upset with you."

Bethany quirked her Lips and teased, "You're usually so composed, but now you're getting angry? I must be pretty special."

He snorted. "You've always been special.”
