Chapter: 943
"Is the meeting over?" she asked.

"Well, next time, just use the bed instead of the couch. It won't disrupt the meeting."

Bethany smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I toss and turn in my sleep, and the bed is close to your desk. Wouldn't it be awkward if I ended up on camera?"

The people Jonathan met with in those meetings were likely senior executives of other companies or partners from abroad.

She didn't want to cause any embarrassment for Jonathan.

"They know I'm not alone." Jonathan set her down on the bed and tucked her in.

“But that doesn't mean everyone needs to see it, right?"

"They also know I'm recovering in the hospital."

So, even if Bethany accidentally appeared on camera, it would seem perfectly normal.

Who didn't have someone by their side when they were ill?

And Jonathan actually liked the idea of people seeing Bethany with him.

She snuggled into his chest with a smile, ready to talk with Jonathan.

But was Jonathan really in the mood for small talk now?

Just earlier, after her shower, Bethany had wandered around the ward in her nightgown. Eventually, she dozed off on the sofa, her legs swinging in a way that distracted Jonathan from his work.

He had just finished his meeting, shut down the computer, and turned his attention to something more pressing.

Bethany hadn't sensed anything amiss until he began to undress her without a word.

She quickly clutched her pajamas and asked, "What are you doing?"

"I've been sick for five days."

"And?"

"You've had five days off."

Bethany was left utterly speechless.

Five days off? What on earth did Jonathan mean by that? Were they going to make up for the past five days?

But before she could voice her protest, he had already seized control of the situation.

He moved with a sense of urgency, his actions brisk and determined.
