Chapter: 970
“We're not exactly poor." Despite Siena's family not matching the wealth of Nikolas’, they were considered rich in their own community.
“Siena.” Nikolas tried to regain his composure. “Are you certain the child is mine?"
She shook visibly as she faced him with disbelief. "You know that when I was with you, it was my first time..."
Nikolas remained silent.
"I gave you my all, and this is how you repay me? Do you realize how difficult my pregnancy was? I was terrified my parents would find out and force me to terminate it, and equally scared your friends might see me and tell you. I had to hide myself. I only relaxed once our daughter was born."
Hearing her words, Nikolas felt an urge to shout that she was insane.
It would have been easier if she were still pregnant. He might have found a way to avoid the birth of the child. But now that the child was born, what was he to do? Kill her?
"I don't want to hear this anymore. Just tell me what you want."
Nikolas was exasperated.
"I want you to marry me. We could be a family." Siena laid out her demand clearly.
"Impossible!" Nikolas raised his voice, glaring at her fiercely. “I'm about to get engaged. What you're asking is not feasible."
Siena stared back at him, stunned. "You're going to keep our child a secret from her?"
“That's my business. It has nothing to do with you."
“You're so cruel, Nikolas. What if she finds out?"
Suddenly, Nikolas stepped closer and seized her by the throat, saying viciously, “If you even think about telling her, I'll make sure your family has no place in Odonset."
Siena looked into Nikolas’ eyes, seeing real and intense killing intent.
He had completely ignored her feelings and the situation of their child.
She felt like suffocating, and out of sheer desperation, she blurted out, "Nikolas."
Upon noticing her increasingly pale face, Nikolas loosened his hold, his teeth gritted.
“Just because you gave birth to the child in secret doesn't mean you can manipulate me. I'll never agree to marry you. Forget about it. If you're smart, you'll name your price, leave Odonset for good, and never return."
"Ahem..." Siena gasped as air flooded back into her Lungs, coughing violently. Her legs gave out, and she started to collapse.
"Think about it and send me a message." Nikolas turned and walked towards his car.
Desperate, Siena called after him, "Nikolas! Where are you going?"
“I'm going home to have dinner with my girlfriend.”
