Chapter: 978
Bethany took a deep breath and caught up with him, grabbing his sleeve. “Jonathan, wait!"
Despite his haste, he instinctively stopped, not wanting to drag her down.
“What happened? Tell me," she pleaded, anxiety tightening her chest.
She searched his eyes, but he wouldn't meet her gaze.
“Nothing. I just wanted to go for a walk."
"From dawn until now?" Bethany stepped closer, intending to hug him, but a faint scent of blood reached her nose.
His black coat obscured the source, but the smell was unmistakable.
"Yes, I lost track of time," Jonathan replied, his voice still low.
“There's blood on you." Bethany gripped his coat tightly, and dried flakes of dark red blood fell into her palm.
Jonathan's lips tightened, and he yanked his coat away, quickening his pace.
“Jonathan!" Bethany called after him, desperation in her voice. “You said you would never lie to me. Where did you go? What's going on? Why is there blood on your clothes?"
He stopped and turned his face slightly. "Bethany, don't touch me. I'm dirty."
Jonathan felt he was dirty and couldn't bear it.
"Jonathan, when have I ever thought you were dirty?" Bethany repeatedly tried to grasp his hand. Each time he pulled away, she reached for it again.
Suddenly, Jonathan pinned her against the wall, one hand clenching her firmly. His long legs forcefully spread hers, leaving her trapped.
"Jonathan..."
Before Bethany could finish, he kissed her.
His kiss was wild and desperate.
It felt like it might be his last, as he feverishly claimed her lips, refusing to let her go.
"Hmm... Mm..." Bethany felt like the air was being drawn right out of her lungs, leaving her slightly lightheaded.
She could taste the blood in Jonathan's mouth, the same as what stained his clothes.
Jonathan... Did he get hurt?
Bethany's struggle wasn't to break free from him but to find where he was hurt.
Yet, she was ultimately helpless, forced to let him take advantage of her like crazy.
