Chapter: 979
Finally, she felt like she was about to pass out, so she could only bite his Lips to make him stop.

It seemed that Jonathan finally came back to his senses. He stiffened, released her, and hurried away.

Bethany remained motionless for a while before following him.

Back at the ward, Jonathan headed straight for the bathroom.

He did not take off his clothes, but just wore his coat and stood under the shower, letting the cold water soak his clothes and make him more sober.

Jonathan knew he needed to investigate and verify whether Maddie's claims were true or not.

That woman was notoriously deceptive. Her words might not be trustworthy.

But for some reason, Jonathan felt Maddie wasn't deceiving him this time.

This time, she had told him the truth.

"Jonathan! Come out!" Bethany pounded on the bathroom door. "Taking a cold shower? Are you trying to freeze yourself to death?"

She had assumed Jonathan was rushing to clean up since he disliked germs. However, noticing the clear bathroom door without any steam, Bethany realized he hadn't used any hot water.

"Your injury isn't healed yet. Have you lost your mind? Jonathan! Get the hell out!"

Bethany clenched her teeth and banged on the door forcefully. When there was still no response, she went to fetch a chair from the room.

The bathroom door was glass, not wood, seemingly fragile enough to break.

Before lifting it, she yelled, “Jonathan, move back from the door! If you won't open it, I'm breaking in!"

Right after saying this, she finally heard Jonathan's voice.

Because it was too cold, his voice was trembling and hoarse.

“Just leave me alone."

"First, tell me what's wrong! Explain, and I'll go."

“Bethany, can I just have ten minutes? Just give me some space for a little while."

Bethany pressed her lips and slowly set down the chair. “Fine, ten minutes. But if it's one second longer, I'm breaking this door down.”

She then headed straight for Samira's office from the ward.

“I might need some cold remedies, fever reducers, and something for bleeding bruises and injuries. Hand them over."

Samira looked surprised. "Who's sick and injured? Jonathan?"
