Her mind went completely blank.
A buzzing sound filled her ears.
"Go see Jonathan. He's probably trying to destroy the evidence to protect his mother! Hello, Bethany? Bethany! Can you hear me?"
"I. I can..." Bethany leaned against the wall to support herself.
"Are you sure he knows what's on the video? Could he have asked for it out of jealousy?"
Bethany didn't want to falsely accuse Jonathan.
She needed clarity.
"He knows! Bethany, he knows everything!"
B7's words resonated in Bethany's head.
Abruptly, she ended the call and hastened towards Jonathan's hospital room!

No wonder Jonathan had been acting so strangely and kept apologizing to her!
No wonder he had insisted today's meeting was confidential when he had never excluded her before!

Bethany tried to push open the door, but it was locked from the inside.
She knocked forcefully on the door, calling out, “Open the door, Jonathan!"
Jonathan wasn't hiding. He promptly came to unlock the door.
Their eyes met as the door opened.
Jonathan was wearing the silk nightgown she had helped him into earlier. The belt loosely tied around his hips gave him a slightly lazy and casual look.
There he stood before her, as he had before.
Yet, everything was different now.
“Where is the video, Jonathan?"
Bethany felt as though she was speaking with someone else's voice.
